Re exam: Get re examined. Perhaps re draining and antibiotics, or a different antibiotic will be given.A culture may also help.

Boils treatment : When the boil starts draining wash the area with soap and water, clean with alcohol and apply neosporin otc. Repeat 3-4 times a day until complete healing is achieved. For pain NSAID otc as needed. Rec.: if concerned or running a fever see your pcp.

Re-evaluation: Drainage is good, but with you having that much pain still present, there may need to be further lancing, cultures, packing of the wound to enhance continued drainage and possibly oral antibiotics. If already on antibiotics, may need a change along with a culture of the pus to determine exact bacteria present. Make sure you are using your own towels/washcloths at home and cleaning sinks/tubs well.
