Treatment: Dental cysts can form at the tip of the roots of dead teeth or around the crowns and roots of buried teeth. Your dentist may perform a biopsy to diagnose the type of cyst you have. Cysts are removed by surgery. Without treatment, a cyst may continue to get larger.

A dental cyst: is one of the most common problems resulting in patients seeing a dentist. Dental cysts can often be caused by dental injury or trauma but the most common cause is dental decay that leads to the formation of a cavity, which is usually the starting point of an infection. See your dentist for evaluation.

Looks like surgery: If its a true cyst it needs to be removed with surgery. In office under local like getting a cavity filled. popping it will not resolve the issue.

Cyst?: Any pain, bleeding, or as in your case, swelling, should be examined by a professional. There are literally scores of lesions, most benign, that form in the mouth. See your Dentist to begin the diagnostic process. Please do not put this off.
