Growth hormones!: Growth hormones stimulate the growth plates and cause bones to grow. Different bones stop growing at different times, which is why you feel that your jaw is growing while you're not growing any taller. Growth stops when the hormones are no longer being released. On average, the jaws stop growing around the ages of 16-17 in females and 18-21 in males. Serial cephalometric films can help identify.

Class III: For people with excessive lower jaw growth the length of time the lower jaw grows is exaggerated. You will probably require the services of both an Orthodontist and an Oral Surgeon. Please see a specialist Orthodontist as soon as possible to establish a base line and to quarterback your corrective treatment.
