Yes to both: Not only it is safe but extremely important as untreated infections can do harm to both you and your unborn child. It's important both of you be healthy! your dentist in consult with your obstetrician will decide on how best to treat you- which antibiotic to use and when and how to extract the tooth. Talk it over with both of them to allay any fears or concerns you have.
