It's not normal: Just a pelvic exam should not cause any residual pain. Did you have a lot of pain during the exam? It is possible for a cyst to rupture from trauma---just an ovary being examined, for example, or even sex. You should contact the person who did the exam. You probably need an ultrasound. Any chance that you're pregnant? If so, very important that you be seen soon. Ectopic pregnancy possible.
