Good question: We have very little good research to assess the outcomes of opiate addicts based on the severity of the addiction. We generally think that heroin addicts are more seriously addicted than those who have abused pain pills. I just know there are serious exceptions to that rule and the best plan is one that is individualized and one in which a physician helps you make some good decisions.

Addict: All opioid addicts can be placed on suboxone. The issue is concurrent use of other illicit substances like cocaine, etc....
