Depends: Before an actual work up for infertility, your doctor usually will require a year of unprotected regular sex. On your own if you have regular menses you probably are ovulating and unless you have had a pelvic infection probably have functional fallopian tubes. You could also obtain a basal body thermometer and follow the instructions to confirm ovulation.
