Dental care..: Take painkillers as prescribed by your dentist. While your mouth is numb, be careful not to bite the inside of your cheek. You can use an ice pack on the outside of your cheek for the first 24 hours. For the next 2-3 days after, you can use a washcloth soaked in warm water. Eat soft foods such as gelatin, etc. After the first day, you can rinse with warm salt water to reduce pain and swelling.

Care after any: Dental surgery. When you've had a tooth removed, you need to take care of your mouth to reduce complications like pain, swelling and infection. To lessen any pain, take prescribed medication as directed by your dentist. Don't drive while taking any pain medication as you may feel sleepy. Ask your dentist if you may combine otc medication.
