See below...: The high WBC is probably related to your infection if this was relatively recent. You may want to wait until the symptoms are completely gone or even a couple of weeks more after that and then have your WBC count checked again. If it's back down to the normal range, the infection was the reason. If it stays high with not even a mild decrease you need to discuss it with your doctor.
