Can you give me suggestions with hernia patient complications?

Dr. Marc Neff answered

Hernia complications: Every surgical procedure has its risks. Bleeding, infection, reaction to anesthesia. There is no simple surgery, i tell my residents. Specific to hernias, i tell patients that there is the risk of recurrence of the hernia, 1-5% depending on the method of repair! and size/location of the hernia. There are also risks from the mesh commonly used, including chronic pain, and infection 1-2%.
