What other options for asthma long term control medication are there , other than (qvar - which does not work to control my asthma) ?

Many: Add a long-acting broncholator or singulair (montelukast) to qvar. If still not responding, xolair ( a hybrid antibody to bind the allergy antibody) may be tried. Spiriva has bronchodilator effect nearly as good as bronchodilator. See an allergist to find out if there are allergen triggers that can be avoided.

See below: There are many. You may need to add a long acting beta agonist. Also, I would have your IgE level and an allergen panel done. You might need xolair and/or zyflo. I would discuss your concerns with a pulmonologist.
