Yes: In general , yes but not all people with asthma responds to QVar which is an inhaled steroid. The major side effects are hoarseness and thrush at the throat area which can be mostly prevented by using an aerochamber and gargling with water after each treatment session. Large doses in young children may resulted in around 1/2 inch of loss in eventual height.
