Many reasons for ane: There can be many reasons to have anemia in a 70 year old. One of the common ones is B12 deficinecy; another one is mds.But both of these will show abnormailitie sin the bone marrow.I wouldadvise that you remain under thecareof your hematologist for serial monitoring of your anemia till a cause is found. You may need a repeat bone marrow exam and also get blood levels of floic acid and B12 checked.
