My dad has macrocytic anemia. 10 hemoglobin, 29 hematocrit, 14 platelets, mcv 107. tests for kidney, liver, wbc, mch, vit b12 are normal. why? no alcohol

More labs: Thyroid and Folic Acid should be assayed. A reticulocyte count is also in order as new-made reds can be quite large. Has the pathologist or hematologist looked at the peripheral smear?
