Check with doctor: A standard MRI scan of either the head, neck, or portion of the spine should take no more than 35 to 45 minutes to complete from the time you get in the scanner to the time you get out. The technologists will usually tell you if you are moving too much or not. But if you are worried about this speak to your doctor about medications to get through the study without extraneous movements.
