I get "attacks" on verge of sleep or minutes after falling asleep (during nonrem).i am being very abruptly,jolty woken up.it can be violent (raising arm,twisting body) and they are accompanied by disturbing images/sounds.mri from 4 ago years was fine?

You should see a sleep doctor. You may need a sleep study to figure out exactly what is happening so it can possibly be treated, depending on the results of the sleep study. So, see a sleep specialist. Good luck!

Although most likely these episodes represent benign myoclonus, it is possible that you have Paroxysmal Limb Movements in Sleep, also termed "nocturnal myoclonus". Another possible but less likely condition would be nocturnal epileptic episodes. An overnight sleep study should provide a diagnosis, and point the way to control of your problem.
