A member asked:

What is iugr? can babies die from it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Slow growth: Iugr= intra uterine growth retardation. This descriptive term applies to growth, when the size of the fetus/baby bump does not meet the size expected for the stage in the pregnancy. The reason can be as simple as having the wrong dates, (expected date of conception) or some process that is interfering with the growth of baby. Iugr is a result, not a cause & sometimes results from fatal conditions.
