A member asked:

Is there a relationship between having a fast metabolism and heart rate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes, yes: If you have excess thyroid hormone, fast heart rhythm is common. Moreover, thyroid excess is an important cause of atrial fibrillation which, is most people, tends to cause a heart rate in the range of 140-180 until it's modified by medication. Other than thyroid xs, metabolism is hard to measure. How do you know yours is elevated?
