A lot : The sympathetic nerves take care if the behind the scene stuff in your body. Blood pressure, temperature etc. If they misbehave you can get burning pain. Pain from light touch and the skin and muscle can atrophy. It used to be called causalgia. More recently rsd. Reflex sympathetic dystrophy. The treatment is different than just pain from the motor and sensory nerves that cause "normal pain. ".
