A member asked:

Can a conventional xray determine the depth of a tooth's pocket depth? physical probing, although needed, has been very uncomfortable.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not well: X-ray is 2 dimensional representation of 3 dimensional object. Pocket depth really needs to be probed. Cbct is another alternative.
