My wife has a hiatil hernia, terrible gurd, nothing works for pain of gurd, has tried all meds and seen a gastro specialist, all to no avail, she hurts badly and can't get any answers, help her please?

See general surgeon: If gerd is causing sere symptoms not controlled by medication, she may be a candidate for surgical correction of the hiatal hernia. See a general surgeon who can fix this. These days some of these repairs can be performed endoscopically requiring minimal time in the hospital.
