Yes, but not likely: If this is an incidental finding , nothing needs to be done. If this was done for persistent right lower pain associated with tenderness, then an appendectomy is in order. The diagnosis of chronic appendicitis is debatable, though most surgeons will have claimed to have seen it at least once if they are in practice long enough.
