Surgery - no medical: To date, there are no proven medical treatment to slow or reverse cataracts despite claims of some nutriceuticals. Surgical removal of a cataract (your eyes natural lens) is curative, as it does not come back. Good nutrition, control of chronic conditions (ie diabetes) and uv protection are all likely protective for cataract development.

Yes: The only proven cure is surgery when it becomes a mature cataract. There is no other cure for cataract although you will see occasional products that are not fda approved that claim to do so.
