Depends: Anxiety can be a symptom of many syndromes. A syndrome is a collection of symptoms that tend to occur together. Generalized anxiety disorder is a syndrome characterized by several symptoms including feeling "anxious".

Anxiety can be: side effect of many conditions. Social anxiety is when you are anxious around others. GAD is when you are anxious or keyed up all the time. OCD means when you are obsessing over certain details and may have routines to calm the anxiety that can be time consuming. Specific phobia is when you are scared of driving, heights, ants, spiders, etc, it can be anything.
