Meds are better : The conditions you describe are serious. Diet and over the counter meds may help some. However, the prescription medications - antibiotics and acid lowering mediations are safe and effective. They will help you and have very low side effects. Serious complications can occur from what you have. I'd recommend seeing a doctor again and do take the medications. Feel better. Peter wilk, md.
