Yes: Should be fine. Is your sleeplessness due to cough? Benzonatate is an absolutely useless cough suppressant. If the cough is what is keeping you up at night then a better cough suppressant like Codeine or hydrocodone syrup may be a better option. Contact the prescribing doctor and let them know the tessalon is not working.
