Disc pain: Pain in the low back made worse with bending forward is typically a problem with the lumbar disc (because more pressure is put through the disc in this position) or just simply the muscles in the lumbar spine (as they contract to keep someone from falling over). A vertebral compression fracture is also possible, but is more common in patients over 55 secondary to osteoporosis.
