Don'tRestYourTired--: Pain like that could be from the nerves constantly firing because their thresholds have been changed due to chronic pain or physical stress (it's called "neuropathic" pain), so they respond to lower levels of stimulus. There could also be inflammation in the area. Often, this kind of pain goes away with mild to moderate activity, then returns with rest. See your doctor for a complete exam.

Many possibilities: Many things cause back pain. Muscular strain usually improves with rest. Pain that improves with activity is often inflammatory. Because it is an unusual pattern, it should be evaluated.
