A member asked:

Will papvr cause complications later in life? they just found it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms?: If the shunt is small (asymptomatic papvr) then it is usually well tolerated - it can get worse over time but people with small shunts usually do well with a normal life span (about 1 in 200 people have this) but if the shunt is large it should be corrected surgically.
