Depends: Severity depends on if there are any other defects & how much of the pulmonary venous return is abnl. If no other defects & only 1 anomalous vein, then the amount of left to right shunting will not be much, there won't be that much extra blood flow to the lungs, & there probably won't be any symptoms or need for surgical repair. Right heart enlargement can assess how significant the shunting is.

Curable by surgery: You have 4 pulmonary veins draining oxygen rich blood to left heart. Having anomalous drainage to inferior vena cava is like having "hole in your heart". Approximately 25% of blood is coming to right heart and in long term it is going to cause heart failure and short life span. This condition is curable by surgery and highly recommend in a healthy young patient before irreversible damage is done.
