Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy is effective treatment (not a "temporary" fix). Real psychotherapy involves regular, weekly (or more frequent) meetings. You may feel better within a few weeks, but meaningful ; lasting change could take 6-12 months or so. You should be able to recover from depression and move on. The treatment has a beginning and an end. In some cases, psychotherapy + medication may be in order.
