There is some...: There is increased risk of thyroid disease if it is present in the mother. However, it makes a difference what type of thyroid disease. Automimmune thyroiditis would increase the chance of some type of autoimmune disorder in the offspring. Hypothyroidism in elderly not likely any increased risk.
