Very unlikely: Canker sores (also called aphtus ulcers) normally grow on movable mucosa of the mouth.. Meaning the thin movable areas of the mouth which connects the lips to the attached gums (around the gum-tooth line).. If a lesion appears on the facial side of the attached gums ... It can be different things and less likely a canker sore. Please see your dentist, ; he might wanna refer you to a specialist.

Yes: But it may be something other than a canker sore. If it is not completely healed 14 days from onset, make an immediate appointment with your Dentist or an Oral Surgeon.
