Not usually....: A heart attack occurs when there is a decrease in the blood flow to the heart itself. Symptoms of a heart attack include chest pain or pressure that can radiate to the jaw, shortness of breath, sweating, etc. Spasms of the chest wall muscles can happen for many reasons, including after a lot of coughing, and is not usually a sign of a heart attack.
