A member asked:

Hiatal hernias can put pressure on the chest cavity and organs such as the heart. can this cause permenant muscle damage or trigger heart attacks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The blood supply to the heart comes from the coronary arteries, which are not affected at all by a hiatal hernia. Same for the heart muscle itself.
