If it hurts when you touch your chest, then this is chest wall discomfort, not cardiac. There are muscles, cartilage and bone that can all be the etiology of discomfort. Possibilities include a pulled muscle, inflamed cartilage or a bone bruise or even fracture A pulled muscle on your chest wall can occur without strenuous activity-even a sleeping position can result in a pulled muscle.
