Salmonella: In 2009, in the US 13.6 cases/100,000 persons were reported to the CDC. The chances of getting Salmonella are significantly impacted by how well you practice prevention (ie. Wash hands before food prep & after bathroom use. Don’t eat anything containing raw eggs. Cook poultry to 165 F, Pork or bee to 160 F, Eggs to 160 F. No unpasteurized milk. etc.).
