Resolves most time: Salmonella in the intestines is usually self limiting and most people get better without any treatment. If the diarrhea is severe and pt is dehydrated or ill then antibiotics can be used. If the bacteria gets into the blood stream or another organ then it can be serious and those people are treated in the hospital. Most people clear it without meds. Probiotics may help as well.
