If you go through: the Emergency Room you may or may not end up seeing a gastroenterologist after likely waiting for several hours. If you are not acutely ill, they will probably give you a referral for an outpatient appointment anyway. If you are acutely ill, they will consult with a gastroenterologist if necessary.
