Weight loss: If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. If you eat less calories than you burn you lose weight. So eat less calories or burn more calories, its up to you. Vegetables such a celery take more calories to digest than are in the celery itself, it is also a good natural diuretic (helps you get rid of extra fluid). Look for foods like this and count calories.

Talk to a dietician: No exercise always makes it harder to lose weight. Best to see a dietician for a weight loss program.

Cardio Mix: This varies from person to person. If you have adipose tissue to lose (not everyone does), then consider an increase in cardio and a balanced diet. However, do not always do the same exercise or you will increase your risks for stress injuries. Mix things up with walking, running, biking, swimming, or circuit training. Ultimately you need to burn more than you consume.

Safely: To lose weight insure that calories burned exceed calories consumed. Drink at least 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water per day. Aim for at least 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit per day. Use whole grain when possible. Avoid sodas, alcohol & junk carbohydrates. Get in a good mix of aerobic & weight lifting exercises.

Diet. Exercise : Diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, lean fish and very little dairy, non-whole grain bread (get from whole foods not your regular grocery store - they lie about whole grains), meats. No fried food or processed snacks. Eat out less - too much salt. Cook at home or learn - its healthier and you see what's going in your food. Stay away from the horrible american diet. And exercise daily!

Daily activities: Make your daily activities more difficult - take the stairs, park further away, bike/ walk to work/ store, sit on a swiss ball/ at your desk and stand up every time you answer the phone, or lunge/ hop/ jump from place to place in your house. Things like these may seem small and silly, but the increased calorie burn can add up over time. Don't forget a healthy diet!
