Lab and/or your Doct: As the patient with a positive syphilis test (a two stage test that involves an RPR followed by a confirmatory test such as an " fta-abs") you don't report the results to the state; the ordering doctor or the lab who did the test must report the results to the state authorities. If anything, don't be surprised if an official from the public health dept contacts you to see if you are ok.
