See below: collar bone does not generally hurt without any trauma. If the pain is close to your shoulder area, then it is AC joint, if it is close to the throat area, then it is the sternoclavicular joint. If it is in the middle of the bone, and there was no trauma, then you need a X-ray to r/o other pathology.
