Viral ?: It doesn't sound like meningitis but may be a viral infection which can cause muscle ache and a rash. If the problem persists for more than 10 days or gets worse, see your doctor.

Not meningitis: Symptoms of meningitis may appear quickly, but foot pain and vanishing rash are not classical for meningitis. Fever, neck stiffness and pain on motion, vomiting, extreme irritability, permanent erythematous non blanching rash is more typical for bacterial meningitis.
