A member asked:

Switching from pill to liquid form of magnesium and potassium. i'm told the body absorbs much more from liquid. should i maintain dosage or take less?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Supplements?: If you potassium (k) and magnesium (m) are normal, you need no supplements. The body does not care if you take liquid k or m, or pills. Patients with m deficiency have low k levels that cannot be corrected until the m is normal. You are not on a diuretic that causes both k and m loss in the urine. Before you continue taking the k and m supplements, make sure you need to. Get a blood test.
