In what ways can medications alter an electromyogram?

Very little : Typical medications do not influence the results of an emg/ nerve conduction study. You may take your medications (including pain meds) as usual. Ask your physician if you need to stop any blood thinners before the test for safety reasons. Test results for myasthenia gravis patients are affected by their medications. Emg can also detect diseases caused by certain medications.
