Has anyone ever had severe pain during an emg(electromyogram)?

Uncomfortable: An EMG is usually a bit uncomfortable, it should not cause severe pain.

Variable: Pain is largely subjective, in the eye of the beholder. With emg/nerve conduction tests, most of my patients tell me 'it is not as bad as i thought it would be.' i've had patients who struggle, but we use strategies to minimize discomfort i've also had patients who talk, sleep, or giggle through it. In over 9000 tests, i've only had two patients not get through the study due to discomfort.
