30-60 min: Performance of an EMG may include a physician evaluation taking your history and examining you, followed by explanation of the test, completion of the test, and often includes conveying the results to you along with treatment advice. Emg is typically performed alongside nerve conduction studies. A simple one-limb study can take 30-60 minutes. More extensive workups can be as long as 2 hours.
