Your concern is: Respected. Having said that, we all have some concern in conditions where we feel out of control. Millions of people have procedures under anesthesia every day and the probability of something going wrong is extremely low. Your doc does this all the time and you wake up quickly after the scope. Peace and good health.

Propofol Colonoscopy: Yes, small amounts of Propofol are used by experienced GI specialists. Oximetry should be used, and someone must monitor you. This is pretty standard. Has been somewhat controversial in past, but large nationwide experience should make you feel very safe. Colonoscopy is routinely a frightening procedure, yet most patients can not believe how easy it appears when over. Good luck!
