A member asked:

If someone has chronic high blood pressure, but shows no signs of emotional stress. which hormones should you block or try to control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Chronic high blood pressure is not a disease of abnormal hormone levels. That said, some blood pressure medicines work by blocking angiotensin and aldosterone - renal and adrenal hormones that are involved in the process of high blood pressure. Some antihypertensives antagonize adrenalin. Some BP meds act directly on blood vessels or the brain and have nothing to do with hormone levels.
