OTC Pain Meds....: Any of the otc pain meds available at your local pharmacy should decrease some of the inflammation and take the edge off the pain you are experiencing. Since this appears to be an emergency, i would hope that your dentist would be able to get you in sooner. Make yourself available anytime since cancellations do occur, and have the office call you at once.

Emergency advice: If you truly have a constant toothache and your regular dentist can't somehow fit you in within a day or two, at least to alleviate the pain, i would consider finding a new dentist. I am sure there are many competent dentists in your area that would be more than happy to see you right away for your problem. In the meantime, taking some otc pain medication is all that you can do to help.
